We provide tailored training programmes to our clients in order to reduce the risk of water system contamination and improve their awareness of and ability to control waterborne organisms such as legionella and biofilm.

Our trainers have in excess of 65 years’ combined experience delivering these programmes, and have also been involved in the design and development of well-known industry certified programmes.

At the end of our training programmes your staff will understand the following at a minimum:

  1. How legionella and other waterborne organisms multiply
  2. The methods of transmission and infection and the factors that affect an individual’s susceptibility to Legionnaires’ Disease and its symptoms
  3. Health and Safety legislation, guidance and the consequences for non-compliance
  4. The key roles and responsibilities associated with the management of legionella
  5. How hot and cold water systems operate and the factors that contribute to the risk within hot and cold water systems and how to carry out routine checks

Certified or Non-Certified Training Programmes

The overall purpose of any training programme is to provide practical outcome-led and measurable results. To facilitate this the training must be systematic and planned so that it meets specific needs. We typically use the ADDIE systematic training model when building our programmes. The programmes can be either certified or non-certified depending on your needs. The foundation of our certified training programmes are the following courses:

  • Level 2 Award in Legionella Awareness (RQF)
  • Level 3 Award in Legionella Control for Responsible Persons (RQF).

The certified courses are Hydroviron registered and the qualification is OFQUAL regulated.

Format

We prefer to deliver these programmes in an interactive face-to-face classroom-type environment on the client’s site as it is easier to use relevant practical real-life scenarios to embed learning. In the event that pandemic, geographical or time constraints make face-to-face learning impractical we can provide an e-learning option that suits a busy person’s schedule.
